Henry VIII Gold Angel of 7s 6d,  Rare Second Coinage, 1526-44
Obverse: The Angel St. Michael spearing fallen dragon like the devil, halo breaks inner beaded circle, mint mark Lis (both sides), with Latin legend and beaded border surrounding: HENRICx VIIIx D(I)x G(RA) R(EX) xAGLx Zx FR
Reverse: Ship sailing right, quartered shield of Royal arms at centre, h and rose either side of cross above, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding: PERx CRVCE'x TVA'x SALVAx nOSx XPE'x REDE

This very rare second issue angel was struck when little gold was issued because the economy was in such a bad state. Henry VIII increased by 10% the gold in these coins as an attempt to prevent the drain of gold to the Continent and this coin now became worth 7s 6d (formerly 6s. 8d.)
