Type IVA, 'Henry IV Style', Tower mint London, mint mark: Cross pattée
Obverse: King standing in ship, holding upright sword and quartered shield bearing the French and English arms, scallop on rudder, slipped trefoil below shield, ropes 3/1, ornaments 1-1-1-1, quatrefoils 4[?]/4, with Latin legend and beaded inner border surrounding: RIC | ARD x [DEIx Gx REXxx  ANGL’x S x F xx DNS’x HIB’x Zx  AQ/T’ double saltire stops.
Reverse: Large R at centre of ornamental floriated cross with lis terminals, crowned leopards in angles, all within a beaded and linear tressure, with fleurs in spandrels, Latin legend surrounding: +IhC’x AVTEmxx TRAnSIEnSxx PERxx mEDIV’x ILLORVmxx 'IBAT
